William Paterson Football Falls to Rowan, 31-0

William Paterson lost to Rowan University, 31-0, Friday night in Glassboro, in the New Jersey Athletic Conference opener for both teams.

William Paterson, which beat Alfred State 43-13, was held to 68 total yards and two first downs in the game.

The team punted 13 times, and the Rowan offense simply wore out the Pioneer defense, blowing open a 14-0 game, with 17 fourth-quarter points.

William Paterson quarterback James Waldron was 8 of 17 for 42 yards, while being sacked twice. Malcolm Robinson was the Pioneers sole offensive threat in the game, rushing four times for 14 yards, catching two passes.

The Pioneers return to Wightman Field in Wayne on Sept. 24 against NJAC opponent Kean University.

William Paterson fell 1-1 with the loss.
